Rennes abridged!
Today we had the opportunity to visit the beautiful, medieval quarter of Rennes. We had an exclusive tour of the half-timbered houses that survived the 1720 fire, which devistated most of the wooden buildings in the city. So Chicago has more in common with Rennes, than just the exchange program between LaSalle and the Collège St. Michel!

"April in Paris" - almost
http://youtu.be/JpOqqPb4KpQ
Well it wasn't quite "April in Paris", but it could have been, given the glorious weather we had today. Our trip went like clockwork! Our train left the station in Rennes at 6h35 this morning, and we got back at about 21h00, having hit everything on our "to see" list: Montmartre, le Sacré Cœur, l'Arc de Triomphe, les Champs Élysées, la Tour Eiffel (including going up to the second floor - what unforgettable views!), and Notre Dame. The students were terrific and did a wonderful job following instructions, allowing us to move around the city on public transport without a hitch. They also had a lot of fun socializing and sharing this special day. Going up the Eiffel Tower was a first for most of the French students too.

The students' faces when they saw the Eiffel Tower in person was priceless. This is a memory I think every student will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Our students love to photo bomb the teachers!
SWEET REVENGE!! :)
The kids on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. All of the kids were so brave looking over the edge to get a glimpse of the beautiful sight from above. (Unlike me clinging to the edge of the building, while the kids urged me forward-Ms. Andreoli)

A day down by the sea!
This afternoon we traveled to St. Malo. It was so beautiful there and the students loved the opportunity to shop around in the town! They also got to take in the beautiful view of the sea. Everyone was very happy and speaking a lot of French!

At the "booling" (french prononciation of bowling)
We all had a grand time bowling - although personally, I would have liked to have had the bumpers up! The LaSalle students all seemed to be doing well, and enjoyed sharing their first impressions :) Ms. Miller was the official photographer - watch this space for some action shots 😄
